Monroe/Randolph Regional Office of education

WHO ARE WE?

The Monroe/Randolph County Regional Office of Education acts as an advocate for education by providing positive leadership, performing regulatory functions directed by the Illinois School Code and the Illinois State Board of Education, coordinating and delivering state and local services, and disseminating information for educators, school districts, and the community.

The Regional Office serves as a conduit between the Illinois State Board of Education and school districts in Monroe and Randolph Counties.  In addition to coordinating state and local educational services, our office provides information to educators, school districts, and the public.  Our office staff answers numerous queries from parents, students, school staffers and citizens regarding a variety of educational matters.

Our office administers several special programs and services, including truancy prevention, GED testing, Regional Safe Schools Program, life safety inspections of school buildings, bus driver training, conducting school compliance visits, certification services for our region's educators, professional development for teachers and administrators, and writing and implementing state and federal grants to bring state and federal dollars back to our region for educational programs.

The Regional Office is service oriented and provides support to schools and communities by offering the best possible educational opportunities to all students.  If we can be of service to you please contact us at our Waterloo office, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at (618) 939-5650 or at our Chester office, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at (618) 826-5471.
