The Regional Office of Education is your starting point for all certification matters. We work in conjunction with the Illinois State Board of Education to process applications for out-of-state teaching certificates, endorsements on existing certificates, and for certification renewal. If you already have an Illinois Teaching Certificate, make sure you become familiar with the Educator Certification System(ECS). You will use the system for: Certificate Renewal & Registration, Applying for Endorsements, and Registering Highly Qualified Credentials. In addition, you may print out your full credentials as evidence of renewing your certificate.
