GIFTED EDUCATION SEMINAR - Option 2, Face-to-Face 4 days & 21 hours self-paced. 04/13/2010
Out with the old and in with the new! The new Gifted Education Seminar is designed for regular classroom teachers and invites them to deepen their understanding of how to differentiate their classroom to meet the needs of gifted and talented students. This is a limited time opportunity! Grant funding will cover the cost for this training only in 2010. The goal of the seminar, “Educators will be able to create an environment to identify gifted and talented learners, address their diverse needs, and measure student growth in the classroom,” will be accomplished through the exploration of topics including perspectives of gifted, knowing the gifted, curriculum models, and differentiation. (Although not designed as an RtI seminar, the seminar will provide practical instructional strategies and interventions for use in your classroom.) Benefit to teachers: o Practical strategies for interventions with students at all achievement levels o Materials and seminar at no cost to participants from Monroe-Randolph schools o Substitute reimbursement to district for school days required for course o 3 semester hours college graduate credit, Lindenwood University, $200 total (at teacher expense) OR 45 CPDUs of professional development credit Three options available for teachers. All sessions must be attended and all self-paced work completed. Maximum participants for each session: 25
