Truants' Alternative Program (TAP)
The Truants' Alternative Program offered by the Monroe/Randolph Regional Office of Education accentuates prevention, intervention, and remediation for "high risk" students. This service is available to all public and private K-12 school in Monroe and Randolph counties. School administrators refer students identified as "high risk" to the Regional Office of Education, qualifying them for program intervention and/or case management services.

TAP process:
- Parent/guardian conference
- Student conference
- Establish attendance target
- Academic program adjustments
- Individualized Optional Education Program (I.O.E.P.) established
- attendance & academic progress monitored and/or
- Referral to optional education, special education, alternate school program or a general educational development class
Students who do not comply with the established guidelines are then referred to the "Right Track Truancy Program".
